I'm receiving a show sent by someone. I can accept it but it will not transfer. It says it's transferring but has been at 0% for days now. I've tried cancelling and then re-accepting it but it still will not arrive. IVS checker says my IVS is working and the port and IP address are correct. Does anyone knows what's wrong. I've had the same problem with shows sent from two different persons already.

thanks.

I'd try rebooting the Replay first. Also, try rebooting the router.

That being said, I'm guessing you have DHCP enabled on your router, but have a static IP address set on the Replay itself. This causes problems like the one you are having. The best things to do are to have the router assign the IP address by MAC address or just turn off the DHCP server and assign a static IP to every device on your network.

I've tried resetting every equipment. Still no luck. My replay is Fixed IP and port forwarding is done correctly. IVS check verifies it but it will still not receive.

But do you have DHCP enabled on your router?

If you do, there is something around here we call the DHCP bug. The underlying OS that Replay uses will get an IP address from the DHCP server long before the Replay itself starts using it's fixed IP address. This will occassionally cause wierd things to happen, like Replays not being able to see each other or IVS not working properly.

Like I mentioned earlier, there are only two ways to fix it. Disable DHCP or have the router assign addresses based on MAC address.

moothinks he should reset his router to factory defaults and see if it works. If so, there's likely a problem with his static settings.

I know about the DHCP bug. I solved it by fixing the IP address at ReplayTV. If replayOS tried to get a IP anyway, my router will assign the same IP based on the MAC address, I've this set manually at the router. Has been working for years. Just recently it will not transfer. DVarchive works fine and sees the replaytv at it's correct IP

I'd start out by getting rid of the static IP address on the Replay itself. If the router is assigning per MAC address, it's better to just let the router do it's job and give the static IP to the Replay. In other words, enabled DHCP on the Replay and get rid of the static address. No need to assign things statically twice.

Go to http://www.poopli.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=816 and follow the 4 tests in the Appendix B - Troubleshooting Steps. Report your results for each of the 4 tests here and we can probably solve your problem.

Asked ReplayTV server about unit at ISN 00004-54998-XXXXX.
Found on Replay server.

The IP for your ReplayTV is XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX
The Port for your ReplayTV is 1026
Successfully contacted ReplayTV unit.
The ReplayTV says:

ISN: 00004-54998-XXXX
Nickname: xxxxx
Your IVS settings appear to be correct

It would help if you would not hide your ISN.......

Okay, Ive solved the problem. It was indeed due to the DHCP bug. I found a typo in the static DHCP map. Fixed that, change the replay to DHCP. It got the correct IP address from the router and started working. Thanks everyone.

Chalk up another ReplayTV IVS error to the PBCAD ~~~~ Problem Between Chair And Desk

Problem is back again. It downloaded 55% of the show and then it stopped. I contacted the sender, who says he's been experiencing IVS problems as well. Is anyone having similar issues.

Sounds like a coincidence.... Try getting another show from a "known to be working" sender and see what happens.
