View Full Version : wii sensor bar... top or bottom? xbox79 12-28-06, 11:21 PM anyone know if where you position the sensor bar makes a difference in accuracy? top or bottom of tv? thanks OniKoroshi 12-28-06, 11:24 PM Every set up is different, try em both and see what works for you. For my tv's position, it seems to work better at the bottom. xbox79 12-29-06, 12:01 AM just wondering.. sometimes the boxing game seems like its not doing what i do at all... nomad139 12-29-06, 01:37 AM Ours seems to work better at the bottom as well. The boxing seems to not always do what I did, but it's pretty close... Same for the other Wii Sports games, they're close to what I did but never exact. joekun 12-29-06, 02:49 AM Mine works better on top of the TV, but the bottom of the set is less than 1.5' off the ground. ghughes20 12-29-06, 09:18 AM I started with mine on the bottom but moved it to the top yesterday. When it was on the bottom, it was between the TV and the stand. I had an open slot that would just barely big enough to hold the sensor. I liked this placement for appeareances but it seemed to lose the signal up high. Since I'm tall, this affected my bat swing in baseball. The upper location seems to be better for baseball and still works for bowling, however the pointing function doesn't seem as good. I may fiddle with the sensitivity settings later today. Villanman 12-29-06, 09:53 AM I have a 60" standing 2' off the floor. I started with the sensor bar on the bottom, used that for a couple of days, then moved to the top. I liked the way angle of holding the remote was for the top but the pointer seemed to wig out, even after playing with the settings. So I ended up moving it back to the bottom where it seemed to work much better. designbydave 12-29-06, 11:00 PM I have a 32" lcd and it definitely works better on the bottom. I actually have it stuck only about 3" below the screen (my tv has a nice little ledge that works perfect as a sensor bar slot.) With the sensor bar above the screen it seemed like I had to point the remote way above the screen to get it to work, below the screen and it feels much more like pointing directly at the screen. naschbac 12-30-06, 04:00 AM Not a single one of the Wii Sports games actually uses the Sensor Bar for anything, as none of them use the "pointer" functionality of the Wiimote. You could put the bar in a different room, or remove it entirely. Other than forcing you to use the D-pad to navigate the menus all the games would work exactly the same. SpeedyHTPC 01-02-07, 06:10 PM Bottom for me. In boxing, you really have to do a deep upper cut to get it to do it. My question about boxing is, does my character get tired? He seems to slow down even though Im throwing my fists like mad. cantseetheclock1 01-02-07, 06:23 PM Bottom for me. In boxing, you really have to do a deep upper cut to get it to do it. SpeedyHTPC 01-03-07, 12:06 AM No no..the guy that is ranked like 925 or something is much smarter. You breeze through 20 fights or so in the beginning but this guy comes up ranking 925 and he beats your ass but you cannot fight him any faster. I dont get it and I cannot beat him to get to 1000 rank. ojready 01-03-07, 12:35 AM top for me. My 50" plasma is about 5' off the ground. no problems whatsoever. sports (esp. tennis) is perfect. |
