Hello everyone-
I have grown really accustomed to 3 functions of my HK 430 and am wondering if the TX-SR804S has them:

1) can you see a diagram of what speakers are active at any time on the front display? I use this all of the time to troubleshoot from my couch. I find this less annoying to guest viewers than me walking around trying to suss things out.

2) I think I saw this in the manual online, but to be sure...can you customize the display's names for each input (ie. change VIDEO 1 to XBox 360)?

3) are there discrete remote control codes for all inputs?

Thanks!

Most current model AVR's show what is being recieved, not what speakers are active.

I have not seen any speaker display on my 804, just input information, such as "DVD 3/2.1" and signal quality"48khz"

Ryan,

1) Don't think so...I haven't seen anything for speakers, per se.

2) Yes, you can rename the inputs. All except the front panel inputs which are default to "front."

3) Sorry, don't know about this one.

Good luck,
Steve

Thanks!

A few more questions:

a) I have OTA hdtv coming in over coax cable. Can that upconvert and go out the single HDMI cable?

b) does the ipod connector also send it's display over the single hdmi?

I am hoping to connect the avr to my new projector via a single hdmi cable, but take inputs from : xbox 360 (component), onkyo ipod connector, OTA hdtv (coax), dvd player (hdmi)

thanks
