My wife just finished our non-closing curtains for our home theater. The colour
is kind of not right because of the flash but they are a deep burgundy with gold trim. It really finishes the front of the room off nicely. Thanks for looking...Dave

Nice job. I had my wife perform a similar task with burgundy velour which drapes onto the floor in my theater. See, wives can be useful:)

Awesome curtains! Did your wife made then from scratch or modified existing curtains and valance? Are you planning on covering up the area below the screen with curtain material?

Tat2boy:
My wife made them from scratch, very easily. We waited for a coupon (50%off) from Hancock Fabrics since they has the velour we liked best, and purchased around 15 yards of it. The fringe is fram Walmart. Total cost was around $150.00.
I do not plan on anything on the bottom, we kind of like the illusion that the cutains open and close.
Take Care

The velour material looks great for screen curtains. I'll have to check out Hancock Fabrics and see what it looks like. I have a similar setup with my screen and finished the bottom out with leftover material. I plan on putting up additional black velvet curtains (without the valance) on the side walls to finish the overall look. My curtains are modified, cheapy velvet ones I got off of eBay for $20 a set.
One thing I did notice with the curtains up is that it makes my 96" screen seem smaller. Maybe it's because they're black curtains.

Nice curtains. Can I assume that a center channel speaker stand is next on the list of things to build? :D

Great curtains!! I like them a lot!
I also like your center channel stand. Did you make it yourself? I recently finished my basement and my center channel speaker is on the floor until I make or buy a stand.

Everyone always notices my center speaker stand. That's actually an old picture and I now have the center speaker on the top shelf of my A/V rack. I'll post new pics once I take them.

Johnny15,
Yes I made the speaker stand with scrap 2x4 pieces and some plywood, took about 20 minutes plus paint time. I did "square" off the rounded edges of the 2x4's and used iron-on
efge banding and the plywood. Stand blends in nicely for about $5.00.
my wife and kids also thought the screen looked "smaller" after the curtains (110"screen)
I was amazed by how much more "finished" it made the room seem, almost as much as before and after carpet.
