Is it possible to wire a Pioneer PDP 5070 detachable speaker with L/R channels (8 ohms each) as the center channel from my A/V receiver?

Sure can .... you can use the Red and White RCA inputs for audio on the Plasma from the Center pre-outs of your receiver (use a splitter from the single out).

From that, just level match to the other speakers (with the pioneer remote) to say the -20 setting on the reciever.

You will then leave the tv speakers alone and let your reciever control the volume, as it will be sending a variable signal to the plasma.

Sorry to bump an old thread but I have a couple questions regarding this. What if my receiver has standard speaker wire terminals for the center channel speaker? Do I use an adapter to get RCAs to plug into the plasma? Also, RCAs are generally low voltage so am I going to cause any damage running an amplified signal to the plasma speakers or will turning the volume on the PDP down offset this?

Thanks for the help!

So how can I go about this?

I found this (http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=302-307) at PE but it seems very expensive. The ones used in car audio are less than $10. What is it that makes this so expensive and is this needed for home audio or would I be alright with something cheaper?
