Hi,

I am new to this forum and have a Sony VPH-D50Q CRT projector. Every time I switch inputs/sources I have to re-adjust the convergence on the projector, as the previous owner's settings seem to "stick" in memory.

How do you do a master reset to factory settings on this projector?

From a post by 123viktor on this forum regarding master reset on a G70, reply by techman707:

To do a "normal" reset, all you have to do is go into the service mode and hold the reset button ON THE PROJECTOR for about 20 seconds until you see the reset box come up.

... wonder if this works on a D50?

Thanks! Will try the reset procedure and see if it works.

BTW, the convergence setup on the Sonys is very easy to understand. Coming from a Direct View CRT, with crude adjustments for convergence and the need for magnet adjustments, setting up a Sony CRT Projector is much simpler.

The Barcos are a lot easier imho although the Sonys are not too difficult as long as you remember to press the memory button at almost every turn! ;)

Yep, it's the same for the D50. :)
