Hi there,
Could someone suggest a good software package to use for cideo editing with my gs300 minidv?
The MAIN concern is ease of use. I want to start with something easy and move into something more advnaced later.
Thanks!
Ulead's Videostudio 9 works well for me. It is very straight-forward but the results can look very good. (If one doesn't use too many goofy transitions and video effects.)
VideoStudio 10 is probably quite good as well. (Amazon is a good place to find both. The version 9 might be pretty cheap now that 10 has come out.)
I also have Sony's Vegas (6) MovieStudio Platinum suite but I haven't learned to work it as fast as Ulead's software yet. The Sony is better than Ulead once mastered, IMO.
Windows XP has Moviemaker and it is very good. Burning to a disc was a problem when I tried it. And the results were less predictable.
Good luck.

You did not mention what kind of computer you have. If you have a Mac, it is already loaded free with iMovie and iDVD software. It is very easy and fun to use. You can achieve near professional results. If you own a PC, you will have to purchase extra software. Cyrano is one of the learned expert on this forum for that. You will be well advised.
