Howdy & merry new year!

Tired of jugging a slew of remotes, and having to advise how to juggle them to others. Santa brought a home depot card which will cover a Logitech Harmony 520 (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/detailsharmony/US/EN,CRID=2084,CONTENTID=10929) learning remote. I have a couple of questions with those with this type of remote...

Will it work with both an NEC 6PG ( I think I read yes) and a 6020 switcher? (ditto). I look forward to a second input for the switcher - I take it I can program a particular a specific input (VGA vs component) when setting up the "Watch TV" macro?

Also, will this unit allow me to program a macro to automatically select a particular (memory) input on the PJ? I have the service remote so I think I can do this, just not sure.

Also, my equipment is in several places. I like the idea of a xantech IR extender. It would be nice to point at the screen rather than the PJ, then back over my shoulder, etc. Any IR extender blaster, etc that folks recommend?

The xantech system is wired and has emitters you past to the IR receiver on the equipment. I take it that these emitters work on the PJ & switcher/

Sorry, these are probably very basic questionss, but integral to it working for me.

Well, you can go to the Harmony website and take a test run. You will be able to specify the remote you want to test and all your equipment.

I couldnt get my harmonmy 880 to work with my 10pg, so I had to buy the actual factory remote, the shift button on these remotes seem to have problems with universals. Havent tried to learn the commands from the factory remote, that may be possible, but would probably need to make 2 buttons for every key one shifted and one normal.

I'm also after a recommendation for a good IR extender.

Xantech or Optilinq

Optilinq seems to be a direct knockoff of the Xantech gear and is a little cheaper

There's a LOT of Xantech stuff on eBay right now.
