I got this set a few weeks ago and i've noticed something i didn't notice on my old Samsung DLP wich is noise on dark areas of the image. For example when playing videogames everytime i pan the camera over a dark area the noise is really visible but when the image is still it looks perfect with 0 noise. Is this a problem with my set or something normal on this TV? Like i said the noise is only visible on dark areas when there's some camera movement, this happens in movies also but it bothers me more when playing.

My old DLP was only 46" so maybe that's why i didn't notice it but i can't believe this is normal is it?

It's probably related to the settings. You need to calibrate with AVIA or DVE, available at amazon.com.

I have and still get the noise, waht specific setting could be causing this? Brightness, contrast, what could it be.

Are you using the same Picture settings over the same interface at the same resolution from the same source that you used with the 46" DLP?

Yes, basically my xbox 360 at 720p with roughly the same picture settings.

have you tried useing the gaming mode when playing games. not sure if it will help but it cant hurt to try.
i just got this set today and have yet to hook up my ps2 to try it out. but i think i have read that the gaming mode helps.

I have hte same problem with my 4266, alot of noise even on blacks, it looks worse in game mode
