View Full Version : Problem with 27" Philips TV
I've had a Philips 27pt8302 at home for a few years now and had a few issues with the HD signals from my Xbox 360 and some overscan on HD before but nothing serious. Today I turned it on and the picture on all inputs is stretched significantly, the overscan is cutting out a couple inches of picture on the sides and the top and bottom. I tried turning it off and unplugging it from the wall, searched all over the internet and called Philips and they couldn't help me. Does this sound like something familiar to anyone?

Go to Service Menu and play with it. 27" and not expecting a overscan then you are looking at the wrong size.
I got into the service menu but this stuff is really over my head. Is there anyone that could guide me through it?

Just going into the service menu and "playing with it" is most likely going to make things worse more than better.
If this is something that happend all of a sudden then chances are going into the service menu is not going to solve the problem anyway. Have you contacted a repair service?
I tried calling Philips and all they could recommend was to unplug it from the wall. Other than that they just gave me the numbers to some repair sites. I'm trying harder to convince my dad to just get a plasma than to fix this one.

Well you have to figure out what the TV is worth you. Most repair centers at least charge a Bench or Diagnostic fee. Factor in the inconvience of having to transport the tv to the service center (or the added cost of having them pick it up) and being without a TV for X amount of days.
Thats a call only you can make.
