I'm not sure about the Pioneer receivers, but most receivers with component video switching have an option that lets you select "interlaced" or "progressive."

That should solve the flickering problem.

Did you set the input on the G70 to RGB or component?

You go from your Pioneer receiver directly to your projector? Does the Pioneer receiver have the capability to scale its component outputs? I very much doubt it does or that a receiver with such a capability exists at all. A Sony G70 is capable of displaying a much greater resolution than the S-Video output allows (which is only standard definition). I suggest that you look into acquiring a seperate scaler. The "Video Processor" section here will be of great help to you.

One possible cheap solution might be this soon-to-be-released product from Gefen: Gefen Home Theater Scaler (http://www.gefen.com/kvm/product.jsp?prod_id=4174). We don't know how good this scaler is yet but even if it's only decent, it's got to be much better than your current solution, and the price certainly is right. I believe it was originally supposed to be released in December but has been pushed back, possibly to the end of January. Or later - who knows? Something to consider, though.

Your setting on the Pj are wrong
To get component check your settings
1 5bnc off
2 input A
3. HDTV-YPbPr
4. sync Ext(hv)
5 projector needs to start BEFORE the DVD player

I would assume your pioneer receiver is only a pass thru like most other receivers
so fix the first problem and I think it will be ok !

$450 for a component/HDMI switcher/scaler that does 1080p AND audio switching? This could be a nice addition to my shiny new moome ISS card... Any idea on ship date?

--Edit--
Looks like there's a DVI-I version with one DVI-I input (in addition to the component inputs) and one DVI-I output for $350... http://www.gefen.com/kvm/product.jsp?prod_id=4173

I know nothing definite - I wished I did. All I can relate is a rumor that it may be the end of January. But it must be getting close. I don't recall Gefen listing all those specifications before.

I wonder why the Home Theater Mate exists? After getting the probably necessary HDMI to DVI adaptor, you may have well sprung for the $450 HDMI version and one more input. I wonder which HDMI specification?

My emphasis on DVI-I in and out means RGBHV in and out...

DVI-I input and output accepts both analog and digital video
