Don't panic! I don't play on the G90 very often at all! But my nephews were over today so I hooked it up to the G90. What settings sould I have used? I only ask because I had a rolling bar going through the pic and wherever the bar was the color was off. All my other sources are extremely clean. I simply uplugged the JVC 30K and hooked in the Xbox. The Xbox 360 was set at 1080i HDTV. Just curious if I had something set wrong, or if it was a grounding issue or what.

Thanks! And happy New Year!

Why don't you use the G90 for gaming? I have been playing Splinter Cell Double Agent, since Christmas and it has been fantastic! I wouldn't want to play a game with big status bars in the same place for 24 hours straight, but other than that, I don't worry about it.

I have mine running through a Faroudja DVP 1000, and I haven't had any problems with a scrolling bar. I am no expert, but that does sound like a ground loop to me.

That's the same setup I'm using... X360 component 1080i to Lumagen HDP, deinterlaces to 1080P@60 to G90... works fine.

My boys probably game 10-20 hrs/wk on it. I usually drop contrast from the usual 70 to 50 for their games. They typically swap between multiple games, so any static score panels aren't up for over an hour.

The banding sounds odd, but if you're using the same 1080i settings and cables from the 30K, then it must be something specific from the X360... there aren't too many other video settings, so it probably is ground loop.

Clarence do you even both with the scan line, or orbit functions? I've read that they don't offer much protection. Just wondering, my wife and I like to play project gotham and other race games.

No, I think the orbit just moves a few pixels, so if you were gaming long and hard enough to get a burn, the scan line shift menu setting or the orbit option would just give you a blurry burn.

I drug out an extension cord and plugged it into another outlet instead of my monster power strip and it's clean as a whistle! Any ideas on how to correct it so I don't have an orange cord running through the middle of my HT?

Thanks again!

I had the same issue on an ECP several years ago and it went away when I used a different power strip. At least try plugging your XBox directly into the 2nd receptacle that your Monster strip is connected to.

Also get a 3 prong polarity checker (link (http://home.howstuffworks.com/how-to-do-home-electrical-repairs3.htm)) to double-check your wiring.

Damn Clarence! You are the "Cliff Claven" of the HT community! There's not much that doesn't get by you. A never-ending bed of knowledge.

Thanks!

I'll report back.
