Hi,

I'm looking to spend about $300/seat for six seats for my small 10'-8" x 14'-9". The theater has a 720p front projector throwing a 90" diagonal picture. At the moment we're sitting on a three-across futon couch 7' from the screen. It isn't very comfortable for extended sitting and of course only seats three.

I found an interesting furniture layout tool on lazboy.com and inserted one of their narrowest recliners, 31" wide. A screen capture of the intended layout and the "Arc" recliner by La-Z-Boy is attached. The 40-1/2" depth of the recliners is a problem, expecially for the rear row.

Does anyone know of some budget chairs or recliners that are compact yet comfortable and would allow me to get six seats in this little room? I might go for recliners on the front row and non-recliners in the rear.

Thanks,

Henry

The Coaster Matinees are 3 seats at 85" wide. With the seat deal going on, the price is below what you are looking for. The thread is in the theater construction forum I think. Might be a sticky in more than one forum.

How much was that lazyboy seat you attached? Looks pretty nice for a rear row, even if you don't have room to recline.

I didn't follow up on the price of it once I saw the Coaster Matinee. La-Z-Boy products are pretty well-made and tend to be priced accordingly. The fabric has a lot to do with the final price as well. We bought some non-reclining La-Z-Boy Gilmore arm chairs for the living room and they were about $450 each. I imagine the Arc is somewhere in that range as well.
