Can anybody recommend the cheapest DVR available that can do the following:

Pause/Record Live TV
Record Schedule TV Shows Manually (like VCR)
Records to a Hard Drive
No Subscription Fee

I just want a cheap glorified VCR with a hard drive. Can somebody point me in the right direction? Thanks.

If SD (since you say "like a VCR"), check out the "DVD Recorder" threads. There is info on all the available models there. Something like the Walmart Polaroid model might fit the bill for you. It's just over $200.00. It has an 80GB hard drive, which can be easily upgraded.
