Balls can be thrown
My seven Year old has been doing it.... He was striking out my 15 year old until he figured out there weren't strikes. When I played my kids they always swing at everything I pitch so I don't know if they would have been called strikes or balls.

The big + control will let you pitch left right up and down when pitching. You have to hold it while pitching.

Press "Left" on the D-Pad (against a right-hander), then hold "A" when you pitch. Very annoying brush-back pitch that will continually piss off batters that swing at everything.

Holding in the A and B buttons while you throw is a splitter, which is almost always a ball. And good luck trying to hit the splitter.

I have a pitching question. When I pitch most of the time there is a delay, like I would make my pitching motion and then the pitcher would make his. Although I think sometimes it does it when I make the motion. Batting works good. I am just wondering if I am doing something wrong.

I think that's by design. Hit your buttons, flip your wrist, then the pitcher pitches.

You don't have to hold it. Each press of the right/left, up/down will determine how much it goes right/left & up/down. For example, three presses and it's usually still in the strike zone. Press it four times and it usually goes out of the strike zone.

And it'll vibrate with each press as a feedback.

Before I realized that you can move the pitch around like that, I was getting rocked by the AI when I got to around 600 rating. It seems below that rating, you can just mix your fastballs/screwballs/curves and get them out. But over 600 rating, they will hit everything in the strike zone. Now that I can pitch around the edge of the strike zone, they usually just hit weak grounders.
