Sorry if this has been posted before. Can anyone tell me which of these is a better quality screen?
The price difference is roughly the same after buying the stand/mount, but it seemed like the 50PH9UK is a newer model.

You're right... it's been done to death.
If you do a *little* bit of searching you'll find tons of threads to read through.
Believe me it's worth it.

Yea but is there an actual thread dedicated to this topic. I seem to see only one or the other. I have searched for 30 minutes yet to find a comparison thread.

If you will be running any TV on it, I would go 60 or 600u. New Pan models are around the corner though.

They are the same generation of glass. The internal components are different. The 9UK does not scale SD as well as the consumer versions. SD-DVD looks amazing however. The 9UK offers more customization of the picture - more controls.
It really depends on what type of setup you want to run. If you are going to mount it on a wall, have external speakers, and are using an external source such as STB then get the 9UK. If you need an internal tuner or speakers or you want a table stand then get the 60u. At the current price on the 60U/600U, they are hard to pass up.
Edit:
The 9UK also allows for 1:1 pixel mapping - over DVI blade while the 60u/600u can not do it over any of its ports. I believe that the 600u offers VGA but the 60u does not. You can run DVI through HDMI but you CAN NOT get 1:1 pixel mapping over HDMI.
The 9UK looks better - yes I know, subjective - with its all black frame. The 9UK is also smaller and lighter.

Thanks guys.
I bought the 9UK for my parents over Christmas when the 600U was way more expensive. Now they are even. I found the 9UK to be the best image I have ever seen.
I have heard that the consumer models picture is not as good. Either do to customization or something else.
I like the 9UK look a lot better, but the option to resize HD channels in teh 600U is huge. My parents 9UK would only show HD and Digital in 4:3 in 4:3. I would have liked to stretch or just that.
So all being considered as the picture, I want to know if anyone has experience with both pictures and can deter the difference in PQ from the two, 600U and 9UK. I have not seen the 600U in stores to look for myself, so this is difficult. At the same price point, all the addons of the 600U make it hard to pass up if the picture is the same. I am just worried its going to be lower then the 9UK, and thats the most important part of the TV.

Search for terms like "consumer vs industrial" or "commercial vs consumer" and so forth and you should find them if you want to read lots of past discussion on the subject.
I will say that i like the non-linear JUST mode on the Industrial model much better than JUST on the consumer model (which looks almost the same as FULL)

My parents have the 42 inch consumer model Randy while I have the 50 inch commercial unit and I would have to agree with your observation.
