Does anyone know how to get a hold of component cables for the GC. Ebay is the only place I can seem to find them and I refuse to pay 70 bucks to get them.

They were only available from Nintendo or some of the online import shops, and they were taken off the market some time ago. You can always keep an eye out at the used game stores. I've noticed a lot of used Gamecube hardware showing up since the Wii's release - I scored a GBA player for $30, something else Nintendo stopped making and is now selling over its old retail price on eBay. chad473 01-03-07, 09:37 AM I saw some used ones in Gamestop the other day while looking for some old GC games. Give them a look. GI JELLO 01-03-07, 12:11 PM I saw some used ones in Gamestop the other day while looking for some old GC games. Give them a look. How much did they want for them? None of my local EBs or Gamestops have any. lunaticpuma 01-04-07, 12:11 AM I have a set of GC component cables that I may consider parting with since I have the Wii now. Send me a PM. sidb 01-04-07, 04:43 AM The component cables for GC aren't just cables -- inside the thick plug end, they include a custom chip that converts the original GC's proprietary digital video output to analog component. That's why there never were third-party cables and it probably helps account for why Nintendo never tried to sell very many of them -- they were probably pretty expensive to make, yet they didn't sell for any more than the regular passive Wii component cables do, if I remember correctly. Nintendo discontinued the GC cables in 2003 shortly after they stopped putting the digital AV output port on new Gamecubes. eBay or used shops are the only place to find them now. I imagine the price will start going back down when people start selling their GCs and getting Wiis. rfosg8 01-04-07, 06:35 AM I have a set I have no use for (sold the GC for the Wii). PM me if you didn't grab lunaticpuma's set. The cables have been spoken for, thanks. fredl 01-04-07, 02:24 PM I need a component cable set for my new gamecube that I purchased today (with a digital av out). If anyone has a set, please lmk. Tenkaipalm 01-04-07, 03:09 PM I have a set that I'll part with. fredl 01-05-07, 09:57 AM Tenkaipalm: I left you a PM. sage11x 01-05-07, 07:08 PM Argh! I got here too late :( If anyone else has the GC component cables and would like to sell I am *VERY* interested. When explaining to nintendo that the GC was unplayable on HDTV due to lag WITHOUT the component cables they told me to buy a wii... LOL. I explained that I've been a loyal customer since the original NES and that after the wonderful support they've provided for the last two systems (my N64 is shelved, the cube hasn't had a new game in the last 12 mos) I would sooner stab myself with a spoon... fredl 01-07-07, 01:56 PM I got hold of a RGB cable which improved the PQ somewhat, but I still want a NGC component cable. Please let me know, if you upgrade to Wii and don't need your cable. TreyS 01-08-07, 10:53 PM I picked up a set yesterday for $49 on ebay. Doug Schiller 01-29-07, 02:29 PM Since I traded in my original Gamecube to GameStop with the Wii offer, I have some periphs I'm trying to sell. What would be the going rate for: Nintendo GC Component Cables GameCube GameBoy Advance player |
