I finally have a HTPC setup that the whole family enjoys. We can enjoy shows with the TiVo like functionality, I can create DVD's for when we hit the road, I can stream shows to my laptop while on the road, listen to our vast CD library (which took me a while to RIP), watch all of our DVD's without having to worry about scratching, as I am ripping them to DIVX format (still in process). And, my children can play their games when we allow it (we limit their time).

We have had a few damaged game CD's and DVD's prior to this setup, so I have (am) putting forth the effort to get everything onto the HD. This is where my problem is. Currently, I use a custom .BAT script that uses Daemon Tools to mount my PC Game ISO images and then play that game. This way, my some can simpy click on the icon he wants to play, and then it just plays.... no need to hunt for a CD, etc. The current game I am trying to create an ISO for is Disney/Pixar's Cars DVD Game. My son loves it. Currently, it stays in the DVD drive. However, I have caught my 2 1/2 year old with it in her hand (luckily, no scratches).

So, I was wondering if anyone has attempted (been successful) in creating an ISO image of this game?

I have also used PowerISO to mount ISO and DAA images, but have not tried to create images with it. Currently, I use Alex Feinman's ISO Recorder to create the ISO images.

Hmm - I bought my son the same game for Christmas and wil shortly be in the same boat. I guess there is something particular to this game. I haven't tried to back it up yet but I do the same stuff with all the DVDs (and he's fast so it's generally the first thing I do when I get a new film for him).

Try Alcohol 52% (http://www.alcohol-soft.com/). They have a free version available now. I use that to back up all of my discs and then use Daemon Tools to mount the images.

Note that they are not ISO images, but Alcohol's own format. Seems to work fine.
