I'm curious to know just how bad this is. I have had DLP for such a long time I don't know if this is the norm for such a highly rated projector, or if mine clearly has a convergence problem. I just bout the thing (used) and got it last Friday, and I can tell you, I expected better from this unit. The pictures are a little blurry, but that's because of the camera. In reality the image is about as focused as I can get it. It's a pretty good representation of what I see...minus all the fuzziness. The green is the worst. What do you think?

Looks pretty nasty to me. Reminds me of my old CRT front projector days. I have never seen this on LCD projectors I have owned.

The site is unavablibe right now, but I know with the 900 I had the convergence was very dependant on how much lens shift you had to use. At least it was on the one I had. I could get it under 1/2 pixel off at every point on the screen if I had it level with the screen and no lens shift was used. and with my Dalite HP screen thats how it was set up.

Odd. I have high power as well. I was wondering if the screen may be exagerating it a little but I never suspected the lens shift would do it. I'll try to line it up dead center and see how it looks later. Here are new links to the pictures. I forgot about Geocities having a limit on the amount of views per day.

I've had a number of LCD pj's and that looks worse than any that i've had. I take it the person that sold it to you didnt warn you about how bad it was?

No, they didn't. I may be returning it. Anybody know of any service sites that can fix it at a reasonable price in case I can't return it? I called heartland and it's a minimum $130.00 just to take a look at it. I checked out www.justrepairs.com and it looks like they charge close to $200.00 for alignment. At this point I think my best bet may be to try to return it and go DLP again.

Well, looks like they're going to take it back. I am thinking about an HD1000U as a replacement, but I'm not sure yet. I still have a few questions about them that I'll need answering before I commit, but that's another post for another time. Thanks for everybody's help though. You can't beat this site!!
