LG On Again with Dual Blu-Ray/HD DVD Player
Here we go again. LG Electronics is on again with a dual-format disc player, capable of playing both Blu-ray and HD DVD content.
In late 2005, LG announced a Blu-ray player that was to ship Q2 2006. In March 2006, LG said the high-def DVD environment was too uncertain to proceed with the Blu-ray player. A dual player would be forthcoming.
And now, LG says it will launch the "world's first dual-format high-definition disc player" to be released in "early 2007."
Now the big question: Will they really be the first?
