I originally posted this in the Blu-Ray player thread and it was suggested I might find more answers in this thread.
I am curious if any other members are having any difficulty trying to get a PS3 to work with a video switcher or processor.
I have tried using my PS3 with a Parasound HDMI switcher and a Lumagen Vision HDP processor ... in both cases, the PS3 is not recognized even though other sources (ie. a Motorola HD cable box) are fine.
Any ideas as to what might be wrong? I wonder if it has something to do with HDMI 1.3?
Thanks in advance.

I've seen a PS3 outputting 1080p in to a Lumagen HDQ then on to a Sony Ruby. That res of 1080P@60 is beyond the bandwidth the Lumagen is supposed to be capable of on its INPUT side but it worked none the less (there were some issues with some games) So you should be able to get it working at 1080i or 720P I'd assume.

Mine works perfectly through a Denon 3806 and then a Lumagen HDQ, or directly through the Lumagen HDQ at 1080i60. I have not tried 1080p60, but I will.

I discovered that the firmware on my processor has not been updated since early 2005 ... hopefully having all the firmware updates will resolve the issue.
BTW - I am trying to output at 1080i

fwiw, my PS3 works perfectly thru my VP50; 1080p in via HDMI, 720p out via HDMI. Component always worked, but couldn't get any 1080p until I switched to HDMI; display device has to be hdcp compliant - otherwise the curtains on the VP50 come into play and mute the signal.

The PS3 is working at 1080p with my Anthem Statement D2 and my Sony Ruby w/o any problems.

I'm having very frequent video dropouts during PS3 Blu Ray (and gameplay) playback...
Connection is as follows:
PS3----> 6 FT HDMI Cable---> Monoprice 5X1 HDMI switch---->50 FT HDMI cable----> Panasonic PT AX100U Projector.
Would adding a HDMI repeater/extender fix my video dropout issues?
Does the long cable run just degrade quality (still viewable) or can it cause dropouts like the ones I'm experiencing?
Thanks for any feedback/help!
Mike
Can't get any lock with PS3 through this Monoprice HDMI switcher at all, but it worked fine on my Crystalio2 , no problems and stunning pic.
Anyone else having problems with the Monoprice switcher?

Use Port 5 for PS3 per Monoprice site.

Why does port 5 make a difference?
"Designed" for the PS3. Whatever that means.
Question: I receive no signal from my Play Station 3 when connected to your 5x1 switcher Rev. 2.1.
Answer: Connect your Play Station 3 to Port 5 of the switcher and it should work fine. Port 5 has been designed to work with PS3.
