I have a new receiver coming with two component inputs and one HDMI... the receiver (Panny SR-XA57) doesnt convert, so its HDMI in and HDMI out and same for componenet.

I may buy a HDMI DVD player of some kind, so I can run the computer into one componenet input and use the other one for something else.

So the question is: When I switch from DVD (HDMI) to comupter (Component) will the HD1000 projector know and also switch automatically?

BUMMER!!!!!!! So I SHOULD have bought the Panny SA-XR55 receiver instead! (with its 3 componenet inputs instead of 2 on the 57)

Should I send it back when I get it?

You could just manually switch the inputs. It's not a huge deal.

what do you mean?

also what looks better, HSMI, DVI, or Componenet... or are they the same picture quality?

I mean there's a button on the remote, you just switch the input.

If the HD1000 is anything like the HC3000 then each input has it's own button. It's trivial to switch. I have my DVD player running in to the HDMI input and everythign else running through component, so I switch back and forth a lot. It's not a big deal.

If thats the case then I can use a universal remote to do it in a macro. I like discrete signals like that...

Almot any TV or projector you could buy right now would let you do that. It's nothing particularly innovative.
