I'm about fed up with AV dealers in DFW. Our office has gone through a few, and they never call back, and never get things done when they say they will.

Is there any chance somone knows a reputable AMX programmer in the Dallas area?

If I had the tools, I'd attempt making the changes we need here at the office myself. I've programmed in so many scripting languages, I've lost count, but getting the tools is a wee bit pricey.

I am sorry I don't have a solution for you but I do feel your pain. I am just a consumer (not business) and want some home automation done and I have had the same trouble, no return calls. Must be nice to not even consider a potential opportunity!

Have you tried contacting AMX, to see who they recommend? Ironically, I think they're also in Dallas.

You could also try posting a message on the AMX forum on Yahoo, or even the Crestron group -- lots of guys there work with both systems.

Check out Media Designs. I believe they are in that area. And they do Control 4, AMX and Crestron I believe.

I haven't seen this thread before, but AMX is based in Dallas.. I find it unlikely that you'd have a hard time finding a programmer in that area.

And if you do, you can always hire me :D Just pay for my air fare from ATL to Dallas when it comes time to test the system

We are a Dallas based lounge and in need of some programming for a crestron / lutron medium size implementation we are about to do.

I contacted Brett per this discussion thread and he said he will not work on anyone's equipment unless he personally sells it to them. Doesn't seem like the same Brett you guys are referring to on this thread :)

We are running Crestron's CP2E processor and (5) of the Lutron Grafik 3506 and a bunch of other screens and misc items.

Any other ideas???

For those who may get upset that I purchased used equipment, please don't I bought everything from an authorized dealer in AZ and I might have to fly them out here if the Dallas market is so snoody.

If anyone does independent programming email me at buybarz@gmail

Thanks!

Wouldn't worry about Brett, turns out he didn't work out for me either! I would start calling CIAP's http://www.crestron.com/partnerships_and_programs/crestron_authorized_independent_programmers/default.asp?view=state&intl=0&state=TX

I am a Crestron programmer and do not mind working on existing systems, I do it all the time. My company is based out of South Carolina, but we have an airport that can get me there!
Let me know if you are interested.

I know this is an ANCIENT thread, but I just found out that I never posted closure on it. The original installers eventually coughed up the AMX code, but we have since moved...

Now on the hunt again for a complete system installer.

We have used Chris extensively and just learned that he is no longer with Conundrum and we need to get in touch with him regarding the system he installed. Since you mentioned he is your neighbor will you please tell him to call Liz or Adi? We would like to discuss free lance work. Thank you.

I know this thread is old, but I'm also looking for a programmer in the Dallas area. Did anyone that read this thread ever find someone? I actually am an AMX and Crestron programmer, but I have an extremely busy schedule right now and I'm looking for someone that can step in and help with my workload. I'm looking for someone part-time right now but it could lead to a full-time position. Anyone in the Dallas area that knows AMX programming?

First off, ignore earlier recommendations of Media Design. He has had problems (Search the Forum & you'll read plenty.) I would recommend that you contact David Groves of DG Sales & Service. He is a one-man operation, but subcontracts to know associates when extra labor is needed. He is very reliable and easy to work with. He can be reached at davegrov@tx.rr.com. Don't worry if you do not get an immediate response. He is also a Sr. Pilot for American Airlines and typically flies their overseas routes. If he is in transit, it may take him a day or two to get back to you.

This is an old thread but it ranks highly on a google search.

I have been an AMX programmer since 1997 and a Crestron programmer since 2002. I have programmed literally hundreds of systems in that time. I live in DFW and travel wherever I am needed. And I can recommend reliable dealers/installers. If you have need of my services, please contact me.
