View Full Version : Jensens TS2750J...makes high-pitched noise

Hello all, I have a Jensen TS2750J television. It has an S-Video input, component input, and composite inputs. There are two different input "channels" I guess you could say, and an A/V output. The first channel has the S-Video/component/composite inputs, the out has just composites, and the second input has only composite inputs.

I have my satellite receiver hooked up to the S-Video and my DVD player hooked up to the component video inputs, nothing hooked up to the composite video or audio (I have a Panasonic SC-HT40 HTIB for sound). Basically since the S-Video and component video inputs are on the same "channel" I can only use one at a time. I have both S-Video and component cables plugged in. Whenever I want to watch a DVD, I plug in the top (green) component video cable in and leave everything else plugged in. Whenever I want to watch the Satellite, I unplug the top (green) component video cable.

This seems to work, but what never fails is a high-pitched whistling noise that goes away whenever I fiddle around with the video inputs on the back, basically just physically moving them around without unplugging them (which I've tried unplugging the cables before, still no dice). What the hell is causing this whistling noise? It eventually goes away after fiddling around, but it's still irritating having to do it.

It also still whistled whenever I just had the composite audio/video inputs installed for the DVD player and nothing else but the RF coaxial cable (not digital coaxial) installed for the satellite receiver. Can anyone help me out here? And yes, the whistling is definitely coming from the TV itself and not the speakers/HTIB. Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to try and explain everything in as much detail as possible in the FIRST post and not in a whole bunch of "question posts." Thanks a bunch!
