So I think I have decided on the HD1000U over the HD72, I will have an TW HD cable box, a Nintendo Wii and a upscaling DVD player running to the projector.

The TW HD Box I will hook up via HDMI input, and the DVD player into the Component inputs, but I didn't really see any other inputs suitable for the gaming system.

Anyone have a similar setup how do you have it hooked up?

Would I need a HDMI switcher or anything?

Don't hook the DVD player up by component, use HDMI. You can't upscale DVDs over component, so you'll be limited to 480p.

You should hook the Wii up via component.

You can get a HDMI Switch from monoprice for under $30 here and feed the hdmi feeds from your cablebox and dvd player.

I just purchased a HD1000U earlier this week and PM'd you the price and retailer.

Goodluck!

The VGA port can be configured as either as VGA-RGB or as component YPBPR. This gives you two component connections if you want.

OR you could buy an upconverting DVD player that does upconverting via component like LG DVB418, Zenith DVB318, Samsung HD941, Helios 4000.

Yep me too. I have found places online for it, but looking for someplace local. maybe a chain store, i have many gift cards to burn and most online places dont like running multiple cards for a transaction.

I bought mine from Spinitar (Lorena). The PJ is drop shipped directly from Mits from CA (1 week after ordering to IN). They gave good prices and service.

PROJECTOR PEOPLE!!!! All the way. Check my post history, and you'll find my experience with them was absolutely 100% the greatest buying experience of anything I've ever had. They knew what was being said on the forum here and OFFERED me the lowest price without even having to ask. Check it out in my history. Don't go anywhere else.

I ordered mine from Projector People on Sunday 12/31 and should have it tomorrow. They called me on Tues. to verify everything and got it shipped out. Excellent service.

Huey: Funny to run into someone from the Knobs on here. That is where I live :)

Just curious, how does the Sanyo PLV-Z5 stack up in picture quality against either the hd1000u or the HD70? I know the Sanyo is about $300 more and is LCD instead of DLP.

The Z5 is more like $500 more.Perhaps, but the operative question regarded picture quality.
