Hey all

I've got 4 different displays that will be used in my home. I would like to get them all properly calibrated for the best picture each will provide, however i'm not entirely sure if Avia (what i have, although used, and without the filters, damn it all) is going to help.

Primary display in the living room is a Mitsubishi XC-3730c MegaView Pro 37 CRT monitor.....it displays in 4:3 and is essentially a computer monitor. it DOES need some capacitor work though, and someone more skilled at setting monitor geometry, but overall it gives a great picture as it is....i just want to see how much better i can get it.

I run Component 480p and 720p most of the time from my Xbox though an X2VGA2 adapter to the RGBHV BNC connections on the back of the monitor. My main dvd player is Xbox Media Center, however it has issues with the Avia disc, so i've been using DVD Region X2 on the same xbox.

I *WILL* be using the occasional Composite/SVideo connection on this monitor, mainly for old school video game systems and my Sony SLV-R1000 VCR, until i can find/buy an SCART RGB to RGBHV adapter (by the way, if ANYONE knows where i can get one at a decent price, please let me know) and replace the VCR with one that does component out.

When attempting to do white level adjustments, i could not get the monitor to "bloom" at all....no matter how high i put the contrast. based on this, i'm either doing something wrong, or Avia will not help me.

next display will be an Olevia 232v 32" LCD TV, running xbox via component and my PC from DVI to HDMI. this will be in my bedroom, wall mounted hopefully. I'm hoping that Avia will work here as well, but i've been told that for LCD, its a little outdated.

Last displays are my Dell Inspiron 6000 Laptop screen via a USB TV Tuner card and my 20" widescreen dell LCD monitor, via direct inputs for Composite and SVideo, as well as potentially Component via VGA.

can i get anyone's opinion as to how to calibrate all of my display devices on a budget?

thank you
