Hi, I'm currently stuck and Replay TVs support is unreachable by me.
I went away over Christmas, and when I came back I noticed that my Channel Guide data had ended on Friday 12/28 late afternoon. I found the Replay TV FAQs about forcing a Channel Guide download and clearing the Channel Guide. I've succeeded in doing that, and now have no Channel Guide info at all in my box.
I can connect to ReplayTVs system. I've done this with two phone numbers plus my ethernet connection. Same results each time.
Currently, my setup as it boots up has no connections under input. I got it to thatI can go to the Network and Input settings, and I can set my IN1 to a Sat system box, that is DishTV in Denver and tell it that its an Echostar box and set the code and all of that. I can test the code in these screens and successfully control the Dish TV box.
When I go to Keep All Settings, I appear to connect to the Replay TV system. I see it say Getting a Connection, then appear to succeed, then go through the steps of Setting the Clock and Setting the TimeZone. I see it go through the step that says something like "getting channel information". Then I see it get to the step where its supposed to download Program listings for channels.
Only it goes way too fast. .... just clicks through 7%,14%,21% etc. Then the box responds with:
Unexpected result code 93a6000b
That's it. I can't get out of this settings area with my settings set because of this. My only two options after this failure is to Try Connecting Again, or to go back to Setup. Once in Setup, I can only either repeat this loop, or discard settings.
Anyone have any ideas as to what's happening? To me, the problem seems to lie on Replay TV's end. I can't think of anything I can do differently in the setup, and my system seems to connect with the ReplayTV system. Its only something goes wrong when it tries to get the Channel Guide.
I tried resetting the Zip Code due to some comments I've read out here... same result.
I'm stuck. My box is pretty much useless without any channel guide info. And I can't contact Replay TV's very, very, very limited support without taking a day off work. So any help is very welcome!!!!
NOTE: To anyone thinking of buying a ReplayTV system, you should check their website and notice that they won't even provide a 1-800 number to call, and that you have to call them from your home during their business hours to get any support. In fact, the support hours are actually less than the website says. I just busted my rear trying to get home fast enough that I could call them by the 6pm time their website lists .... and I got a recording saying that the "support center" was closed and that its hours now ended at 5pm. I generally like my ReplayTV, and want it working again. But I'd be very, very leary about making a new purchase with any company that so limits contact to customer support. Its especially aggravating when I feel I'm trying to contact them about a problem on their end.
