I was able to burn regular DVD's with HDV files on them that work fine on the PS3. You just make a regular ISO Data DVD, and put all the .m2t transport or .mpg format files you want, in HDV format, into a folder named VIDEO that you place in the root directory.
The PS3 searches VIDEO and will play back HDV format M2T and MPG files as HD. Seems to work great, way easier than D-VHS and less problematic than HD-DVD's Ive been trying to make.

Yes... the PS3 will play a raw m2t/mpg stream.... the problem is that you can not include menus and such as in a real dvd.
I am not sure why you are having HD DVD problems??? I have made at least 20 HD DVD's now with almost no problems at all. The only problem I can recall is a freeze at layer breaks, but this was corrected when I switched to Verbatim disks.
I can mess with it more, but Im not the only one who gets massive stuttering. Supposedly if I use a filler file to fill up most of the first part of the disc, it will stutter less, but at this point I dont really care. Its too much a hassle and works too poorly, and no one I know has an HD-DVD player anyways.
I'm better off burning to PS3 compatible ISO DVD's.

Can you please tell me how to create a regular ISO Data DVD? Can I use the software that came with my laptop or is there a 3rd party software application that you can recommend? Also what is an ISO Data DVD?
