I have (or being shipped) the following equipment

Mitsubishi WD-65732 (65" DLP TV)
Denon 2807 (Receiver)
PlayStation 3 (Games and Blu-Ray)
ViP-622 (Dish Networks HD Satellite Receiver)
Sony Progressive Scan DVD Player

I am currently using the Dish-811 receiver and I would assume the SD quality will not change in the ViP-622. What will change is the additional HD channels and a HDMI output.

To give you an Idea of what I think is good quality, 90% of the DVD's I currently play into my DLP TV looks good with the 480p input. I think most of the HD channels look good as well. There are 2 local HD channels that look like crap over Dish but I do not know if this is avoidable (GIGO). And Blu-Ray looks truly amazing.

What I think needs to improve drastically is my SD channels. They are so bad my wife said she starts to get a headache after about 30 min of watching any of the SD material.

I am not looking to spend a lot of money here; I just want something that will convert the crapy 480i signal to the 480p signal. I think that’s all I need as the progressive DVD player seems quite nice.
