I am just going t come out and ask. Did Sansung release a Dual Format player in the past and get seud for it? I have read nothing about it, but my dealer past on this info. He said 100 or so player were actually released before they were sued, and they (samsung) ended up having to pay $600,000,000.

What they did was to announce a universal player and backoff - nobody has explained why - but the "rumor" is that it was because of some arm-twisting. Did the arm cost so much to fix - don't know ;)

Yea. He is a good guy and has always teated me well. I am on here every day so I was 99% sure it wasnt the case. Its not in my personality to make nice people feel like they are totally wrong.

Yes .... some people pad a bit to show they are "in" and know lot of "unpublished" things ....

BTW, LG had made a similar announcement & backtracking. So did Pioneer (though it was for the drive, IIRC).
