Considering how much i have saved off of this 10% (not including the low overall cost of the discs) got me to pick up prime. This just makes me happier that I did so. By the way I got the Email as well.

I got the same email but we are still under the $500 save limit. Of course, you could then buy under your wifes account. Might not be a bad idea to buy your next bundle of 3 under the spouse's name to lock the deal in. The code is still HDDISC10 for hi-def discs. HIGHDEF1 for hi-def players.

Thats $5000 in discs. I don't think I am going to hit that limit any time soon. But just to verify, they didn't reset the limit? Basically if it $500 of savings from now or $500 in savings since well for me July?

Hey guys, I did not get this email.

What's the deal with this?

I was on amazon last week and saw this deal - buy 3 hd-dvds, save 10% for the next year.

I didn't order anything that day, came back the other day and the deal is gone - emailed them and they said - sorry the offer expired.

Are you guys saying you bought the 3 discs already and they extended the 10% discount?

Yes, I have been a using the Amazon 1 year 10% deal since July. It looks like only people who previously were taking advantage of this deal got it extended and that they no longer offer it to new members.

I think I remember, it was valid until 12/31. I would guess that they exteneded us because it was too complicated to cancel it personally for each one of us, and instead they choose to end it at the last possible date. Just my guess for what is going on.

This sucks, I'm banning Amazon until they offer this again.

Who ever heard of a company, that when you contact them about a promotion, they tell you 'tough luck'

Thankfully I've got a frys near by, and am learning of other sources from this forum.

I'm thrilled they decided to extend this for us.
I was going to post earlier that I was ticked off that I decided to take advantage of the promotion so early, when from mid May to late August, it seemed like there wasn't anything released that I really wanted.
Because of this, I may end up signing up from Prime again. $80 seems like a lot of money, but it was great to everything 2 days after street date. and if I get more than 10 discs this year, thats still a decent savings over B&M purchases.

The original deal was for one year or $500 dollars worth of savings. At least that was what I remember my deal was. I don't remember anything about a $5000 limit but maybe that was in there. It didn't say it expired on 12/31. So like someone said above. Sounds like they just want to have a universal cutoff date for everyone.

You just had to make the original purchase by 12/31/06. So no signing up the wife. :(

$5000 would be the cost of movies you would have to purchase before you hit $500 in savings. So if that is true it means $500 over the course of the whole deal and not just from this extension on.

I have a wierd story. In Novemeber I pre-ordered 3 disks to get the 10% deal the day before their release date. This is a bad idea I learned afterword. It adds like a week to your order getting to you than if you just wait until the next day when they are released. After waiting 3 or 4 days and could see that I wasnt going to get Forbidden Planet by Thanksgiving to show my dad I canceled the order. Apparently I still got the deal because I ordered 3 disks the other day and got the 10% automaticly. I guess my account got the 10% flag before I canceled the order. I just hope that they dont get wise. LOL

Now if they would only APPLY the discount more than a week before it ships! That is SO annoying! I've seen them get as close as a couple of days before they applied it!

Although I am happy about this news.

They always apply the discount when I place my order. Strange.

I got the discount once when I ordered 3 hd-dvd's, but can't remember how it works now. Where will it say if I get it or not? Do I just go to check out and it should show it automatically applied?

I just tried it and I put in the promotional code and it stated that the promotional code had expired. :( . Oh well I should have jumped on it earlier. Do we still enter the promotional code or does it just do the 10% automatically?

How can a promotion that is supposed to last a full year be over??? I'm not following.

According to the Amazon website, you had to order the three HD discs before 12-31-06 and the discount will be valid on your account until 12-31-07.

I was able to use the discount on an order I placed with a new account on 01-09-07, but the 1 year discount has not been placed on the new account for any new orders.

I wanted to have it on a backup account in case I used up the $500 discount limit.

I put in my first order for 3 discs with HDDISC10 code on around the 3rd of January and when I add an HD-DVD to my cart and go to checkout I am still getting the 10% off.

Ok, I ordered my 3 hd dvd's in early dec. But when I go to order more, I see no prompt for 10% off and nothing gets taken off when I go to check out. I checked my old email from amazon to see if they sent me a code to use, but there isn't one. Anyone got any answers for me? Thanks!

you should contact them. I had some of my HD DVDs not get anything automatically taken off. It is setup automatically for you.

So wait, I placed my 3-title HD DVD order with Amazon using the HDDISC10 code on January 8th, and I received the 10% discount on all three titles. I figured this meant I am in on the year long deal. Is this not the case? I just purchsed Kingdom of Heaven and Crank through them, and no discount was applied. Is this because they are BluRay and my three qualifying discs were HD DVDs, or are they not giving me the deal because I didn't place the order before January 1st? If the latter is the case, then why did they give me the 10% off of my first order on January 8?
