I recently lost this program due to kids fiddling with my computer... did have a backup burned on disc tho and reinstalled it ... the MP4SP asked me for virtualdub and I re-downloaded the zip file, then extracted the zipped files into a seperate folder..
{{ArchosMP4SP is in Program Files and placed the VirtualDub folder and its contents inside of Archos MP4SP ... i remeber when I first installed it reading that virtual Dub had to be in the same folder as MP4SP... also tried placing the VirtualDub contents w/o a folder in the MP4SP folder but didnt work either }}
MP4SP asked for location of VirtualDub, pointed to it ... but now when I try and run it I get this error message:
VitualDub Error- Cannot open file "Job.avs":The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.
VirtualDub 1.6.17 does open but does nothing and I did notice that the Job.avs was popping into My Documents and would popout when i closed the Virtual Dub
Can some one tell this computer illiterate what I did wrong? Or what I need to adjust...
I basically use this program to convert MPEG1 files recorded on my SonyVaio laptop [tv shows etc] and occasional DL avi movie from the net to view since i have very long train commutes.. Athough its a basic program that came with the archos it served me well, until now of course - - Until i can figure it out I guess I'll have to take the 'octopus' of a/v wires and use it
**Also if anyone knows of any other programs that can convert more type of AV files esp. MPEG2 which are higher quality to the type of divx .avi that the Archos understands I would appreciate a reply on this thread.**
Thanks in advance to anyone who replies....
