Wasn't able to access the avsforum.com site from my Explorer 7 favorites (~8:45 am ET 1/7/07), so I opened David's server list file (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?p=9146716&&#post9146716) I'd stored earlier and clicked the Server 2 URL. It worked immediately.
Guess it's also possible there was a temporary glitch to server 1, although a ping command to avsforum.com showed no problem. -- John

Hi...
All the links in that post you showed all link to the same place... www.avsforum.com They all would run though the load balancer at this time if you are seeing the new IP address.
I wonder if Exp 7 has it cashed to an old IP address.

Don't know what's happening. After quiting this morning's session for a few hours, tried logging on at 1:27 pm ET (avsforum.com/avs-vb) and was unable to. Called up your stored post with 4 server URLs listed again, clicked the server 2 link, which requested opening a 2nd window (pop-up blocker on), then connected me to the main AVSforum site, then on the the forum index page (usually reached directly). -- John
EDIT: There's no end slash / in my Explorer 7 favorites listing (above), mentioned in the current long server-busy thread. Maybe I'll try the end-slash next time.
EDIT2: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/usercp.php?
Also, from another post, added this to my favorites list and will try this variation during the next access problem.

We made some changes this afternoon to try to resolve the incorrect host name being sent back by the new load balancer. I hope this may resolve your issue.
Thank you.
