I think I am going to have to order this one online. B&M really sucks in the northern Atlanta area.

Target has good prices ($20) but only stocks like 5 titles.

BestBuy has almost everything (except Casablanca!) but they charge like $30-40.

I usually get BB to pricematch target but they have been total bitches about it recently requiring a printed ad when they usually just look it up on the computer.

The locals here don't have Forbidden Planet,Casablanca or Mutiny on the Bounty.

I didn't even know Forbidden Planet and Mutiny on the Bounty were out on HD DVD. I'll have to check FYE. According to their website Best Buy doesn't have any of the three.

I ended up ordering Casablanca from Amazon. It just arrived yesterday.

It was there 2 weeks ago at the BB at the Tustin Marketplace. There's also a CC there w/ a paltry selection of HD DVD. BB here usually have the same number if not more for HD DVD

Nope, for some reason, we are not carrying:

Casablanca
A Christmas Story
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
Mutiny on the Bounty
Forbidden Planet
Casino
Lady in the Water
The Ant Bully

Of course, we also are not carrying From Hell for BR.

Why? I have no idea, as it seems to be just WB titles that were aren't getting, and corporate is STUPID.

However, crash, where do you get $35-40 from for HD-DVDs though? Unless they are combos or King Kong, they are $24.99.

When the 3 November 14th titles (Casablanca, FP and MOTB) were released, someone said in a thread that he asked why, and he was told it was because they were "not mainstream enough." Here we have Warner setting an example the other studios should emulate by releasing some classic titles, and they won't carry them.

I can almost understand not carrying the Christmas titles. The thinking would be that if they can't sell them by December 25th, they're stuck with discs that nobody would buy until the next holiday season. Wal-Mart gets an assortment of Christmas titles each year, and the unsold ones get sent back to the distributor rather than discounted. Some BB stores may not be able to do that with these formats yet since they would amount to a handful of discs, and they might have to put them on clearance to make room for other titles.

Lady in the Water is surprising though. Regardless of the quality of the movie, it's a new release, and new releases tend to sell a lot better than catalog titles.

The Break Up 37.99
Hollywoodland 34.99
Superman Returns 34.99
Fearless 39.99
Lady in the Water 34.99
Miami Vice 34.99
The Ant Bully 34.99
World Trade Center 29.99
MI3 29.99

Some of those may be combos, I am not sure. It shouldn't matter since Target has combos for 19.99 also. And I said 30-40, not 35-40. Even the ones at 24.99 are too much considering Target carries the same thing for 19.99.

Yeah but target has the worst selection.... I went there with a gift card I had and they only had about 5 BD and 5 HD-DVD's, I ended you walking out with X3...

And as far as best buy carrying it, looks like it might be online only. all 5 stores in my area (las vegas) do not have it.

All but MI3 and WTC is a combo. Don't blame BB though, blame Paramount for being greedy with bad movies. After all, BB only charges a little more than what they pay for, and I can tell you that I pay $31.89 with my employee discount for those that are $34.99.
