Just curious, if both TV's had the exact same technology, exact same size, and the only difference was that one TV was 720p and the other tv was 1080p, would Zelda look better on the 720p HDTV?

Kinda like i have heard regular ole progressive scan DVD player looks better on a 720p hdtv then a 1080p hdtv?

Since the Wii can only output 480p, any TV that is not 480p native will have to uprez the video anyway. I think it might be a subjective issue (meaning that it might looke better on 720 for some ppl and others will prefer 1080).

I'll find out which looks better (for me) when I get ahold of some component cables.

They would look exactly the same. The Wii puts out 480p, so any TV putting out that or above is going to look pretty much exactly the same showing a 480P image

They won't look the same. One will be 480p upscaled to 720p and the other 480p upscaled to 1080p. Side by side I can see the difference (better color accuracy, darker blacks) but it may not be worth the extra dough to some.

It depends on the quality of the TV's scaler and calibration more than the resolution. Once scaling is involved, and as long as interlacing isn't involved, the final size doesn't make much difference. If you see different black levels or colors on two displays, it's because those displays are just calibrated differently or don't have identical processing electronics.

??

Resolution has nothing to do with blacks and color accuracy.

Theoretically the less upscaling the better. Theoretically. In practice I doubt it matters.

Whichever has the best scaler will probably win.
