So I'll know what to expect - I just ordered it yesterday w/ a bunch of other films. Is it a good movie? Admittedly, it was complete blind purchase based on Peter Bracke's PQ review - Is the PQ as good as he claims?

I also have this on preorder, because I really like the movie.
I had it on Laser Disc years ago, and PQ was excellent, so I'd think the HD disc should be as well.

I haven't written my review yet, but I have watched the disc. I would say it is a solid 4 out of 5 for PQ and AQ is about the same. Blacks are crushed pretty severly at times, but this may be the way the film was shot and not from the actual transfer. Audio wise, the surround usage is incosistent, although in the factory scene, they are very impressive giving you that "being there" aspect. I agree with Peter though that the .LFE was way under utilized. I should have the review posted later tonight over at The Spot.

I thought the transfer was outstanding. Scott's use of visuals and lighting has always made this a tough cookie to crack in terms of duplicating at home the movie's original look, but the HD-DVD is simply marvelous! Portions of it are "demo worthy" if you will, and I loved the variety of colors and shading on display.
