the problem there is the SDI player of choice ;) big difference between that Pioneer and a good RP91/RP82 etc., really big difference

The upcoming Samsung BD-P1200 Blu-ray player (eta: March) implements the same Silicon Optix HQV processing as the Toshiba HD-XA2, so it could deliver excellent performance as well. We'll have to see whether the Samsung implementation is as good as Toshiba's.

Denon also had a preamp on display with Silicon Optix Realta HQV processing, and said they would be implementing video processing tech from Silicon Optix in several models coming mid-year.

Do you plan to do a Xa2 vs Vantage HD, I believe they both use the same chip, it would be interesting to see if the Toshiba is performing so well because of a good integration of the chip or it's only because HQV solution is ***better*** than the Crystalio II

That would have to be up to Tom Huffman since he has the Vantage HD and would have to bring it over...
