Played some Zelda for a couple hours today, left, came home and started up the Wii to hopefully gain the Master Sword but alas, it is not to be!
System started up just fine, but then when I hit "A" or shake the remote to get it on screen, it just flashes at me. I've done all the troubleshooting steps (resync'ing, replacing batteries, etc.) on Nintendo's website and nothing has worked, any ideas aside from taking it back to Best Buy for an exchange?

Try unplugging the power from back of the unit for about 10 seconds and then plug it back in again.
Edit: I meant the console unit, not the wiimote.

I've experienced this same issue a couple times and my solution is the same (cut power to the system, restart)

I had this happen a couple of times. Repeated attempts to resync the controller eventually resolved it. Turning off all other bluetooth devices in the room might have helped.

I've had that too, required a hard reset (pull the power plug for a few seconds), then test it, resync if needed.
That's standard practice for pretty much any electronic device BTW, if it doesn't work, and all else fails, pull all power to force a total reset.

This just happened to me yesterday too. Was playing Wii Sports, hit the menu button to return to the Wii Menu, and when it got there neither of the two remotes just being used would work. Tried doing the full resync for several attempts to no avail. Finally, as was mentioned, unplugged the Wii power cord and that fixed all the problems. :) Still, an odd bug.

Well I've tried everything short of calling the big N so it looks like I'll be trying that out tomorrow to see if they have any better ideas, if not they'll probably be RMA'ing my console to fix it. Hopefully I won't have to lose my Zelda save and VC games!

i have 2 of 4 wii remotesd that will synch at the Wii menu, but as soon as a game starts, they power off..
Brand new batteries, resynch, power off for 7 days didn't address it.
Are they sunk?

I actually have one wii mote that doesn't like to sync up. The ONLY way I have been able to get it to sync is if I go into the game and select 4 players and then when it asks to hook up the other wii mote turn it on then. Trying every other way it just blinks for a bit then turns off.
