Ok I bought the Philips dvp5960. After getting it, it doesnt have the SOUND I need. Picture is fine but I have a 7.1 system. What player would you suggest for @$150? is the Oppo DV 970 going to do it for me? I am playing everything thru A denon 2805.

if in fact your player is set to output dts and dolby mixes then it should be decoded by your reciever
that is probably the problem
check your manual on how to configure it
my stepdads dvd player was like that he set it up wrong and two years later i was bored and finally enabled those options along with the screen format (stretched movies dont look that good) from 4:3 to 16:9

The DVD player does not play DTS to my knowledge and other post, so I think I might still need another player, anysuggestions?
