I've peformed some searching for Bathrooms in a basement with a Home Theater, but only found a few, and had to dig through threads to find them.

Anyone interested in placing some pictures of their bathroom downstairs with their HT? I'm trying to determine if I want to do a "Movie" Theme in the bathroom, or if I want it to look more contemporary or futuristic. Just looking for some ideas. My wife wanted to use our SeaShell stuff in there, but I don't think that goes with a playroom, excercise area, pool table and Home Theater.

On another note off topic, I was at HomeGoods this weekend and saw a 4' Betty Boop Figure holding a little chalkboard sign so you can write the name of the movie you are showing. I liked it, but it was $350 marked down to $288. Maybe for $150, I would have purchased it. Maybe I should make an offer?

Timely post - I am in the same situation scratching my head about what to do in the bathroom (as far as decorating goes that is.....)

Will keep an eye on this thread.....

If the bath is directly off of the theater, I would carry the color scheme and design over to it. If it just happens to be in the same area as the theater, anything goes. Mine is at the other end of the basement, so I was able to go with a basic color and white trim. In an effort to over-do it, I also pre-wired coax, cat5-e, and an outlet in the bathroom. I ran the cables to the A/V cabinet. Additionally, on the way to the bath is a "main room". I also pre-wired there. My thinking is, that way you don't miss any of the movie, game, etc.

Man, this forum is a goldmine for ideas. My theater design is such that the bathroom is right off the theater. Once the LCD monitors are low enough in price, I will now plan to mount one on the wall over the toilet so that when I am standing there, I can continue to watch the movie. Not sure if I should mount one on the opposite wall as well so that the wife can have the same level of convenience.......good thing she doesn't read this forum..... ;)

My basement is set up so that when you come down the stairs, you are in a 12 x 26 playroom (finished when we purchased the room). It has a door. Once you go out that door, it opens to the rest of the basement where I have a small hall to the right that goes to the bathroom. To the left is a little area I'll use as an excercise room, which is right outside the Theater. So, my bathroom isn't right outside the theater, but on the other side of the basement.

Our basement will be for about everything. We already have the playroom. The big section (not that big) outside of the playroom will have a small pool table and a computer desk for the PC. Some bookshelves down that wall heading down the hall to the bathroom to house all of my wife's books.

I guess it makes sense that "anything goes" in the bathroom as it's not close to the theater.

I'd still like to see some what others have done in their bathroom to give me some ideas. I have a few lingering in my head.

My bathroom is right off of the theater. I hung three framed one-sheets in the bathroom: Moulin Rouge (signed), The Incredibles (signed), and V for Vendetta. The reason I chose these three specific posters is because they all share a similar color scheme (lots of black and deep red). The bathroom walls are painted a similar deep red, and the posters are framed with a thick black wood border. I haven't bothered to finish the baseboard trim, but it will match the poster frames. My wife (who made my red velvet screen curtains) will be making a shower curtain using black velvet, and putting on fringe trim that will match the theme of my screen curtain. I haven't gotten around to getting the shower curtain rod hung, etc., because it's unlikely that anyone will travel two floors down to take a shower anyway. The reason I finished off the shower/tub in the first place is simply because it was already roughed in when the house was built.

The rest of the elements in the bathroom are traditional (cherry cabinets, granite counter), but they match the deeper, rich colors (as opposed to typical white cabinets, etc.). I didn't put any other movie props or anything like that in there. The overall look of my theater is uncluttered and somewhat elegant, and I wanted that to carry over to the bathroom as well, since it is connected to the theater.

Or limit it to 3 and only 3 sea shells only.

Looked at your HT pics. Very nice theater. I didn't see any of your bathroom. Do you have any handy that you could post?

I really need to take some better pictures of mine, but here is what I have:

This one is of the shower base without finishes. I need to take an updated photo. Guess I've been waiting to get the shower surround installed before I do.

Thanks! I appreciate the compliments. My whole project has taken way too long to complete. Even though it's not finished, it's nice to be able to finally enjoy some of the work.
