I mean.. Come on... 3 titles mentionned in the HD DVD GROUP press release and nothing after? How about doing like FOX and DISNEY did with Bluray, Title that will be release until June? I'am a little disapointed in them right now. Last year we had a listing at least..

They're contemplating mistake they made, and having second thoughts ;)

if your own studio doesn't wanna support or sacrifice for your format, why would you wanna waste your money on them :(

Well because they are consistant in their release unlike Sony on BluRay witch crap half the time. Actually, i'am getting a PS3 in 2007, but i'll buy Fox and Disney movies, Sony was inconsistent on DVD and i stopped buying dvd from them, same with Bluray.

Universal has been great so far, but they haven't disclose any of their title, even Jan 30th one, since they always have a release the last tuesday of the month...

You should be greatful for Universal to be in the HD DVD camp. You guys get Fearless, King Kong, the LOTR trilogy... oh God. Those are the ones I wish were on Blu-Ray as well.

LOTR is New line, Not Universal.

P.S. Fearless was garbage. The Protector was 10 times as good. Im not sure what company released that though.

We haven't really gotten any studio-specific press releases yet, even from studios who've already issued ones for presumably cross-platform titles on Blu-ray. I'd imagine there'll be a torrent in the next couple of days.

I would bet that we will get The Bourne Identity by the end of the year, if only because the sequel is on the way. The only question is whether they will release it when it debuts in theaters or on video.

To each their own, I'm importing Fearless from Amazon for the same reason, not up here in Canada (ordering Clerks II while I'm at it) but I thought the Protector had the worst storyline and editing of almost any movie I've seen in the last 5 years... the action was decent, but the rest was unbearably bad...while I thought Fearless was a brilliant movie regardless....

This year you can expect that Universal's 2006/2007 theatrical titles like "The Good Shepherd," "Children of Men," "Breach," "Smokin' Aces," "The Kingdom," "Evan Almighty," and "Alpha Dog will be touted as well as some terrific catalog titles that are expected to be announced tomorrow.

I know!! Come on Universal!! I thought of all of HD-DVD's Supporters they would have had the biggest showing at CES. They have basically done nothing really. If Universal is your Flagship Supporter and they do this to you, are they really that much of a supporter anymore?

That's a pretty silly reason to stop buying good movies... A good movie is a good movie, no matter what studio paid for said movie's production.

I'm sure Universal will roll some rawkin' titles in 2007. Patience, friends ; )

For being a paid member and on here for two years is this format a war really worth putting your account in jeopardy over with your trolling.

What I posted is my honest opinion, it should not put my account in jeopardy. I really think that Universal during CES has to announce at least one of their blockbuster franchises (Jurassica Park, Jaws, BTF, ET, etc.) for exclusive release on HD-DVD during 2007 or else it really hurts HD-DVD's ability to market competitively against Blu-ray. Did you read the OP? I am sympathysing with the OP.

If Universal does nothing else during CES, yes, I think you have to start to question their true support of HD-DVD now. Why? Because at last year's CES they showed a lot more enthusiasm towards HD-DVD then they appear to be this year. Also there is the rumour that Universal may begin releasing on Blu-ray in early 2008. Maybe Universal will do a sort of Warner Brother's strategy and just trickle out HD-DVD releases during 2007 and they reach parity with Blu-ray quickly in 2008. Who knows, only time will tell.

You've been questioning HD DVD's viability for months on these formus, so what you are saying here is merely consistent with your posturing in the past. That's fine. But the reality is that releases are far more important to the format than announcements. In the event that a lack of announcements was followed by a lack of releases then I would agree that HD DVD is in trouble. But we're a long way away from that and wishing it were so won't make it happen. Still, I would prefer to see some announcements since they can create buzz and stir consumer interest. But at the end of the day consumers do not purchase announcements, they buy releases. I think it is fair to say that the vast majority of people supporting these HD formats know where to get information about available titles and where to purchase them. We are still in the early adopter stage, make no mistake about that.

I gotta hand it to the BDA spin doctors though, I thought it was pretty hilarious that they declared themselves the winner of the format war at CES. I bet that Ohio State wishes it could have declared itself the national champion without having to play Florida. It's funny to see grown people behaving like little kids in the business world. What's next? Maybe we can get the top BDA and HD DVD people together for a shouting match of "My father can beat up your father." :D

I have to agree. Fearless is a much better movie than The protector, aka. Tom yum goong. While I do like his fighting, Tony Jaa really isn't much of an actor. Where's my elephant! is about all his lines where. Not much of a story either. For Tony's next movie, they are going to actually hire some outside writers.
