Hy, I have a new color tv and a new dvd player.
The problem is if I plug the back only with rca sockets I only get black and white
picture playing when playing DVDs. When I plug the rca into the scart adapter in the
dvd player I get color.
The man in the shop that sold me the dvd player said ist because of my tv.
Is this correrect ?
I really think it might be the dvd player as these are the only options for the sockets layout.
I'm assuming the RCA output you're talking about is a Composite one, so when you plug that into a SCART adapter, you're sending Composite video through the SCART terminal.
Since the video signal type is the same, it's very strange that one input would give colour and the other wouldn't. In that case, it does sound like a quirk with your TV. What kind is it and where are you located?

I tried plugging in again and noticed it will not do color if i plug the scart adapter
into AV1 its only does the color on AV2 which is strange because the TV is only
capable of AV1. There are 2 scart sockets in the back of it.
The tv is from ATD. The dvd player is a a combo Sharp dvd recorder/vhs.
I have to no scart adapter for the back of the tv, only for the dvd player.

Look on the back of the tv to see if the cable is loose from the dvd player to the tv.
