I have a Comcast HD/DVR with DVI out to HDMI in on input #7. I currently run 1080i for HD, but the cable box has the capability to output either 480i ot 480p SD channels and then automatically switch when changed to HD channels. I was wondering if I should turn off the SD output on the cable box and let the TV stretch to picture (i cant stand bars and dont mind the distortion) or allow the cablebox to output 480p and fill the tv. Also does anyone know the best calibration settings for the comcast cable box, xbox 360 and a sony dvd player connected via component? I have searched and searched through the tweak threads and just keep running into a pleathera of different settings and cannot figure out which one to use. I watch tv mostly only at night with one ambient light to the left and behind the television.
