I've had a Samsung HLN437W for about 3 years now, but recently moved, and changed my setup a bit. I finally got HDTV (TV was just for DVDs before), so now I have an extra component input. My preferred way to have it set up, is to have all audio and video inputs going through my receiver (Pioneer Elite VSX-36TX), and only one set of component cables going from the receiver to the TV.
The problem with this, is some of my inputs are only 480i (PlayStation 2, VCR), and some are 720p (cable box), and none of the component inputs on the TV accept both 480i and 720p (C1 is 480i/480p. C2/C3 are 480p/720p/1080i). Is there any way to get around this? I hate having to first change the audio input on the receiver, then change the video input on the TV. I'd much rather just press the "TV" or "VCR2" button on the receiver remote to switch both. Is there any way to work around this, or is there some sort of cheap box I can get to upconvert the 480i to 480p so I can have all on one input?
