I'm new to this and here is my first post. My wife and I are getting a dual tuner PVR receiver in our bedroom to replace the older PVR. The reason for the change is we desire to watch different programming but just don't know how to handle two different audio programs going at the same time.

I guess one of us could use wireless headphones of some type? Or I was wondering do they make speakers that are directional enough that one side would be heard from my side of the bed and the other side from hers? If so are they cost prohibitive and do I need to buy a home theater system?

Any ideas appreciated.

I know that Radio Shack used to sell small, low-powered amps that could be used to hook the TV and wireless headphones' module to. I haven't seen them in their stores in a long time, but you can check their website.

Are you shure the dual-tuner PVR allows you to watch two programs at once? "Dual tuner" usually just means you can record two programs at once, but the unit may only be capable of allowing you to watch one program at a time. I am pretty sure the cable and directv PVRs that I have used do not support watching two shows at once. But I do remember reading (and being somwhat confused by :)) some Dish network PVR that seemed like it might support that. I guess my point in asking about this is that you might need to nail down just how you will would be able to watch two shows at once with your PVR device. You might find that you need two separate PVR devices to achieve the results you are looking for. Or maybe I don't know what I'm talking about. :D

Wireless headphones are your best option for the sound. No loudspeakers are capable of the directivity that you seek (or at least none that are generally available in the marketplace).

Yes. I don't have the receiver in hand yet but it is supposed to allow for setting for separate tv viewing at the same time or recording of two live shows while watching previous PVR recording. It is Dish model 625 I think. I haven't ordered the receiver yet in case I find something better but will this week.

As for the wireless headphones...
In searching I came across BEBE SOUND TV-777 and maybe that is an option. I found on Ebay Item# 120057274419. Sorry I couldn't put a direct link but wasn't allowed because I'm too new user.
