My ipod video is windows formatted and I am able to stream music and pictures just fine when connected to the 360. I tried putting a wmv-hd trailor on the ipod root drive to play on the 360 and to my surprise, the xbox doesn't even recognize the ipod under the video tab! All the other tabs are working so is this a problem with the ipod or is just a limitation with the 360 so we could get zunes. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

I encountered the same problem wish there was a way to trick the xbox into playing the videos.

You can't stream videos from your Ipod.
You can from a windows PC running XP and WMP11 or a media center edition.
If you dont have those, then you can install TVersity on ANY windows OS and stream videos from the PC. it even transcodes on the fly (divix to wmv) or any other format actually.
I think zune can stream movies, but thats MS pwning everyone.

Since the 360 can stream videos from external hard drives, shouldn't I be able to put a wmv movie onthe root of my ipod and play it on the 360?

It has been able to stream videos from external drives since the Fall Update (maybe Winter.) It probably doesn't treat the iPod like an external drive but rather an mp3 player. When I have my hard drive connected, it does not support sorting by artists, etc., but when I have my iPod connected it allows that.
