Im not sure if this is the right forum but i need help.

I connected a vga cable to my sharp 37" aquos and set the resolution to 1360 X 768 on the xbox 360. well on the right side of the screen its a one inch thick black bar going down the whole ride side and at the bottome its a black bar going across thast about a half of an inch thick. how can i get rid of these or is that what happens using the VGA for the 360? its only like that when i play my 360 or hy HD DVD but anything else it doesnt do it. Ive searched many different forums but found no answers on how to correct this.

Sounds like you have an image shift while using the VGA connection. Shifted left and up.

Do you have the option to move the picture around (left, right, up, down)?

Have you tried any of the Aspect Ration/Picture stretch options? Do these work?

I think I read somewhere that another person has a similar problem when using the VGA input and the 360.

You might have to use the Component input instead to avoid this.

I use VGA with my Pioneer plasma and I do not have this problem.

I have the image shift (to the right only) problem with my Samsung HL-R4667W DLP over VGA at 720p. I only started getting this after the last Dashboard update (the 1080p fix update).

My TV has the ability to move the image around, but it's limited and only works on the Dashboard for me. Games and DVDs are still shifted to the right. I'm using component in the meantime until this issue gets resolved.

Have you set the output to different resolutions to see if that fixes it?

Such as set it to 1080i?

Such as set it to 1080i?I don't think there's a resolution for 1080i when you use a VGA connection.
