I'm building an inwall rack for my gear and want to hide my 10" Paradigm sub in the wall with the equipment. The sub would be at floor level. The sub is a rear ported design so I am worried that if I put the sub inside a cabinet the sound output may be compromised. So how have others hidden subs behind walls? Any pictures would be great.

I bought front ported subs (two of 'em) to "hide" inside stage cavaties:

That's an awsome set-up Steve. I can't build a stage. The room will not permit that. Buying a new sub is not an option right now.

Well, I was thinking along the lines of a cavity in the bottom of the rack... but if you are going to keep the rear ported units, that's probably not workable...

Oh... and thanks!

What if I make the cavity large enough so as not to block the rear port? Or would this act as a second chamber on the port?

The general replies I got on the SW section of the forum was that it wasn't a great idea...

Ok. Thanks. I will look at other locations for the sub then.
