RTS Games on Projector?

Anyone have any experience playing RTS games (War/Starcraft, Command and Conquer, Battle for Middle Earth) with a projector hook up? Whats the quality, gameplay like?

p.s. I am looking forward to C&C3 in a major way.

I like FPS, RPG, simulators and adventure games (MYST) on my projector but RTS, Empire building and MMOs are still relegated to monitor play.

I can't really tell you why I prefer the monitor just something about the projector didn't feel right to me on those games so I went back.

Not harm in trying it though.

I'm a huge C&C fan from back in 1995. Generals looks good on my projector, but it's almost too big to follow and control the action. I guess if you sit far enough back and have a good mousing surface you'll be fine. The overall quality is still great, and the gameplay is the same as it always has been.

thats good to know. I am ready for some C&C3 on my setup. My concern, like you mentioned, is it being too big to follow all the action.
