Ive been reading and it seems that people are using both sides the the polywall. what are the advantages and disadvatages to both sides or does it even matter? I got a some what light controlled room, its a living room in an apartment but i cover the windows so its pretty dark during the day. any advise thanks

There are many good topics listed on this page and the prior dealing with Parkland Polywall. All have great info from what side to use to how it compares to other DIY materials.

I have read that post and one person says they used the smooth side but i also read on here that people are using the textured side.

I use the textured. Just try both and see which one you best.

I think it's mostly personal preferance, my X2 looked good on both so I'm using the smoothe side.

I've been to both my local Lowes and Home depot and have never seen what they actually call "Parkland"
There's some $35 white plastic sheets they use in the own bathroom wall's, so i would assume thats PARKLAND?

Nope that isn't the Polywall, but it might be a different Parkland product. They have something that is like corrugated cardboard, but made of PVC, and you might be seeing that product, it runs in that price range. I am not sure how well that material works, has anyone tried it? The Polywall is very flimsy bright white sheets, and can be rolled into a tight roll to fit in your car, usually runs around $15-20 in the states.

I picked my parkland up at menards for 19.99. If you have a menards go there because lowes or the depot didnt carry it. I live in michigan. You have to dig for a good piece because a lot of them are bent and have grooves in them.

I used the smooth side after getting the opinion of ten others. One thing to keep in mind before you test them is that the "back" of the sheet has to be blocked from light transmission as the sheet is translucent. That means ultimately painting whichever side you determine to be the "back". For testing purposes I would put it flat against a wall which should cut out enough light transmission to evaluate it properly. For us the determination about using the smooth side was a no-brainer. We ALL preferred it. All ten of us.
